This Symposium was designed to address concerns posed by the American Academy of Neurology’s issuance of 2023 Guidelines after unsuccessful efforts to revise the Uniform Determination of Death Act (UDDA).
The Symposium addressed several key issues including: the concept of brain death; accurate and consistent testing; ethical policies and protocols; and education.
